Carbon steel pipe hardness commonly used Brinell hardness, Rockwell hardness, Vickers hardness of three indicators to measure.

Brinell hardness
In the steel standard, it is the most extensive Brinell hardness, often expressed in indentation hardness of the material diameter, both intuitive and convenient. However, for hard steel or thin sodium.

Rockwell hardness
Rockwell hardness test tube, Brinell hardness test, indentation test method. The difference is that it is a measure of the indentation depth. Steel Rockwell hardness test is a very wide range of applications, among which steel used in HB HRC at Brinell hardness. Rockwell applies to the determination of extremely soft to extremely hard metal materials, which make up for the lack of Brinell hardness method, compared with the Brinell hardness method can be directly read from the hardness of the dial hardness tester. However, the Brinell hardness method is more accurate due to its small indentations.

Vickers hardness

The tube is also Vickers hardness test indentation test method for the determination of thin metal materials and the surface layer hardness. It has such key advantages as Brinell, Rockwell, and overcomes their basic drawbacks, but as an inconvenient method, Rockwell and Vickers methods are seldom used in steel standards.
