X42 pipeline steel is a low-carbon microalloyed material produced using a thermomechanical controlled process (TMCP) that combines controlled rolling and cooling. The resulting steel features a uniform microstructure, fine grain size, and an excellent balance of strength and toughness. With a tensile strength of 415–565 MPa and a yield strength of≥290 MPa, the pipe performs reliably under complex geological conditions and dynamic loading environments.

The pipe ends are precisely machined using specialized equipment to form standard grooves with a dimensional accuracy of±0.2 mm.
