GB/T 3091Welded steel pipe for low pressure liquid delivery (2015 standard version) has been approved and released by standardization administration of the People’s Republic of China. The new version put into effect from June 1st, 2016, and meanwhile, the old version of GB/T 3091-2008 became officially invalidated.
The new important terms on national standard:
1. Minimum requirement on the weight of galvanizing coating
On the new national standard, this is the first time to require the minimum weight of galvanizing coating. Based on the old standard of the consultative requirements, the compulsory standards requirements on the total weight per unit area of the galvanizing coating cannot be less than 300g/m². As a result, the average life spans of the pipes lengthen to 30%.
2. Pipe end
The pipes whose outside diameter more than 114.3 mm (less than 4 inch) has a mechanically-end-facing and the pipe ends have no burr.
3. Repair welding of defects
After revision, the defects repair of pipe with its outside diameter over 219.1mm has changed into that the steel pipes with electric longitudinal weld must not be repaired.
