The API standard, short for the American Petroleum Institute, is one of the key production standards for oil pipeline steel pipes. This standard encompasses API 5L, ASME A53, among others.
Oil casing is a crucial component in oil drilling operations, alongside other equipment such as drill pipes, core pipes, casings, drill collars, and small diameter steel pipes for drilling.
Tubing Specifications: 8-1240x1-200mm
Standards:
API SPEC 5CT - American Petroleum Institute Standard
SY/T 6194-2003 - Oil and gas industry standard for oil and gas well casing or tubing
Usage: These pipes are utilized in production or liquid injection processes.
Main Steel Pipe Grades: J55, K55, N80, L80, P110, etc.
Tubing Classification:
Non-upset tubing (NU)
External upset tubing (EU)
Integral joint tubing (IJ)
Under the API 5CT standard, casing and tubing are categorized into four groups and 19 steel grades. Based on the manufacturing method, they are divided into two categories: seamless pipes and welded pipes. For specific grades like L80-9Cr, L80-13Cr, C90-1, C90-2, T95-1, and T95-2, only seamless pipes are permitted. Other steel grades can use either seamless pipes or pipes produced through resistance welding or electric induction welding.
